After the convening, we published a discussion paper with several key policy proposals to streamline and improve the drought response at every level from the local to the state. This report captures the key learnings from the practitioners assembled at the Drought Convening. By sharing information, best practices, lessons learned, and ideas for addressing local drought needs, we hope to facilitate better collaboration between state, regional, and local agencies and drought responders. The recommendations in the Practitioners Drought Convening Policy Discussion Paper will provide a framework for the next convening and for improving the drought response throughout the Central Valley.
